And so it begins...

The first chicks of the season arrived today!   Here's a video of the little guys and gals who arrived at our post office this morning.  I feel the need to emphasize that this video is NOT sped up--they really do move like that.

These chicks are meat birds, which means we'll have more chicken starting the first week of May. We'll get chicks in every two weeks from now until August.  These guys will spend 2 to 3 weeks in the brooder, depending on the weather, and then be put out to pasture in our pasture shelters.
